About this event

Drama, Grace & Glory will open the GTPO's 2026–27 season with a program that celebrates the expressive power and emotional breadth of the orchestral repertoire. Under the baton of conductor Oliver Balaburski, the orchestra will be joined by Toronto-based young bassoonist Abby Minor in Hummel's elegant Bassoon Concerto , showcasing the virtuosity and lyrical qualities of this rarely featured instrument. The concert will begin with Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture and conclude with Brahms 's richly textured Symphony No. 3 , creating a compelling journey from intensity and heroism to warmth, lyricism, and triumph.
