Peter Asher: Everywhere Man
Everywhere Man is a feature-length documentary inspired by musician, producer, and manager Peter Asher’s celebrated cabaret show A Musical Memoir of the ’60s and Beyond . Like his stage performance, the film traces an extraordinary life lived at the centre of modern music history. From his early years as a child actor in 1950s London to the Swinging Sixties, Asher emerges as a Zelig-like figure in the culture of the era: one half of the pop duo “Peter and Gordon,” recipients of four chart-topping hits penned by Paul McCartney; the first head of A&R at Apple Records; and co-owner of the Indica Gallery, the epicenter of London’s countercultural art scene. Asher helped define a generation of singer-songwriters as producer and manager for James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, and others, cementing his reputation as one of music’s most influential behind-the-scenes forces of the 1970s and ‘80s. In the present day, he remains a vital creative force, still performing, producing, and most recently collaborating with Barbra Streisand on her acclaimed The Secret of Life duets album. Featuring intimate interviews with James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Carole King, Kate Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Natalie Merchant, Marianne Faithfull, Paul Jones, Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtell, Lee Sklar, John Boylan, Paul Shaffer, and Paul McCartney [in voiceover], as well as cultural icons Steve Martin, Eric Idle, Twiggy, and Pattie Boyd. Everywhere Man paints a vibrant portrait of a man whose life intersects with some of the greatest artists and moments of the last six decades. And the soundtrack, woven from the timeless hits of those featured, creates a score as unforgettable as the story.

Nick Maclean's SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS: An Asimov-inspired Jazz
Nick Maclean's SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS: An Asimov-inspired Jazz-Funk journey (Toronto) FRI-JUL-10 doors @ 6pm | show @ 8pm @ My House | www.MyHouseInTheJunction.com 2882 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6P 1Y8 $20 adv, $30 door Tickets: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1987926288041 Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/26342980408734504 —- "Totally original… Funky as all hell… this ain’t any Kenny G oatmeal for folks with no teeth." – Mike Greenblatt, Classicalite (New York, USA) —- Under the leadership of JUNO-nominated and 10x Global Music Award–winning jazz pianist NICK MACLEAN, SNAGGLE feat the ALI BROS launches into a daring new chapter: a suite of electrifying works inspired by the science fiction grandmaster ISAAC ASIMOV and his legendary FOUNDATION saga. Often described as “Canada’s answer to Snarky Puppy”, the band goes interstellar using their fearless sound, likened to a cross between electric-era Miles Davis and Rage Against the Machine, to map the rise and fall of galactic empires. Front and center are the ALI BROS, the near-telepathic horn duo of BROWNMAN ALI (Guru, Jay-Z, Randy Brecker) on trumpet and MARCUS ALI (Matt Dusk, Jason Wilson, Mr Something Something) on saxophone. Like Asimov’s psychohistorians, they shape the future with every phrase, weaving complex probabilities into sonic reality. Joining them on this voyage are some of Toronto’s finest electric-jazz explorers: JAY YOO on guitar, PHIL ALBERT on bass, and ADAM MANSFIELD on drums. With performances swinging from Seldon–like moments of quiet, calculated clarity to cataclysmic bursts of energy worthy of a crumbling empire… Snaggle’s new repertoire doesn’t just pay homage to ASIMOV, it channels the spirit of his storytelling: daring, complex, and endlessly imaginative. For fans of Jazz, Science Fiction, and the BOUNDLESS possibilities that emerge when the two intertwine… this is a voyage not to be missed! —- :: Nick Maclean – keys/synth :: Brownman Ali – electric trumpet :: Marcus Ali – tenor sax :: Jay Yoo – guitar :: Phil Albert – bass :: Adam Mansfield – drums —- WATCH Snaggle perform at the 2022 TU Jazz Festival https://youtu.be/ggp8lHRB_RA?si=iu0j9NZ2hIB_7fbo LISTEN to Snaggle's uptempo burner 'THEORUM', from THE LONG SLOG https://youtu.be/YlHVbRgPYNk?si=bq_CkJUweRj81s_Y LISTEN to Snaggle's twisted odyssey 'SAW', from THE LONG SLOG https://youtu.be/ai2sYhw-SYc?si=EafC2ZIsd3RxYZP6 LISTEN to Snaggle's eclectic holiday single 'CHRISTMAS TUNE' https://youtu.be/RRf8U8cETZc?si=wfAZbOj3a5HPCd1l —- For more info: www.NickMacleanJazz.com www.Maclean.Browntasauras.com www.Brownman.com www.Browntasauras.com ================================= ALL TOUR DATES Thr-Jul-09 @ Henry's On James, Hamilton Fri-Jul-10 @ My House, Toronto Sat-Jul-11 @ Lakefield Jazz Festival, Lakefield Sun-Jul-12 @ The George Whiskey Lounge, Newmarket All Tickets Available @ www.Maclean.Browntasauras.com

Indian Chicken Tikka at Chandni Chowk. Bombay Dosa and Vada Pav at Udupi Palace. Mango Lassi at Moti Mahal. Fresh South Asian-style Sugar Cane Juice at Lahore Chaat & Desi Burger, Chandni Chowk, Desi Burger, India Paan, and Lahore BBQ & Paan Center. Shawarma at Doner Palace. Attendees can explore a bustling marketplace filled with South Asian fashion, jewelry, textiles, crafts, artworks, and cultural treasures from across the diaspora. But beyond the performances and food, it’s the energy that sets this festival apart. You’ll see grandparents getting nostalgic, children making new memories, friends reconnecting, and newcomers discovering something that feels like home. What truly makes this festival special is its support for local small businesses — the backbone of our economy and the heart of our communities. Small businesses drive local economies, create jobs, and enrich neighbourhoods like ours with diversity, authenticity, and resilience. Festivals like this help drive foot traffic, increase visibility, and celebrate the entrepreneurs whose shops line our streets and whose stories are woven into Canada’s multicultural fabric. Supporting them isn’t just about economics. It’s about preserving culture, building community, and shaping a vibrant future. Held in the heart of Gerrard India Bazaar — Canada’s largest South Asian marketplace — the festival celebrates multiculturalism, tourism, community pride, and economic vibrancy while creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for residents, visitors, families, and tourists alike.

Everybody to Kenmure Street
“In the age of ICE and MAGA, and the Trump-inspired nationalist movements in the UK, it’s an amazing story of a community triumph… a morale-boosting film.” — The Guardian “A love letter to peaceful protest… a powerful testimony to a community’s ability to take control of their part of the story.”— Screen International From executive producer Emma Thompson comes an inspiring and profoundly moving portrait of what everyday citizens are capable of in the face of injustice. In May 2021, a U.K. Home Office dawn raid triggered one of the most spontaneous and successful acts of civil resistance in recent memory. In Scotland’s most diverse neighbourhood, hundreds of residents rush to the streets to stop the deportation of their neighbours. The morning in Glasgow, the first day of Eid, started as any other. But when neighbors heard through community message networks that two local men were snatched up for deportation, hundreds of people left their daily lives to rush down to Kenmure Street and put their bodies on the line. Though mostly strangers and with almost no planning, this extremely diverse group organized themselves, taking on essential roles to allow the collective to achieve their goal: protecting their own from government forces going after the most vulnerable among them. Everybody to Kenmure Street reminds us of the power that is always inherent in the people.

Andrea Scala – Canada Tour July 2026 + Animal Party
Andrea Scala : drums and electronics The project involves the use of acoustic drums, samples, and other electronic elements, all played in a sort of one-man band. These compositions incorporate abstract rhythms, textures, noises and electronics, employing analog and digital processes. Everything is expressed through a system of improvisation within a musical structure, dictated by the interaction of different rhythms that overlap and generate incidents with other sounds in transit. The idea is to fuse all these elements together and transport them beyond the static, aiming to express something happening in the moment, generating chaos and movement. Organic and digital, human and machine, in total creative freedom, conceptually jazzy and adventurous. Andrea Scala – Canada Tour – July 2026 July 2. TAP Centre for Creativity, London July 4. Avant-Garde, Ottawa July 5. Casa Del Popolo, Montreal July 10. Silence, Guelph July 11. Bsmt254, Toronto July 16. The Local, Halifax July 19. He toured with alternative, jazz, pop, folk and world-music bands, performing at festivals, venues and clubs in Europe, Canada, USA. Between 2024 and 2025, Andrea wrote, produced, and released "BURHST," a collaborative single with Italian drummer and composer Roberto Pistolesi, and subsequently another single titled "Stems," with American saxophonist and composer David Binney (creator/producer of David Bowie's band Blackstar). Animal Party (opening act)Animal Party is an ethereal, experimental folktronica project combining live harp, haunting vocals, and electronic textures. Each performance is a journey inspired by mythology, natural phenomena, and the spiritual realm. Rooted in Irish cultural memory and shaped by club sound design, Animal Party conjures ritualistic soundscapes that blur the boundaries between the ancient and the futuristic. With a live setup that includes pedal-processed harp, affected vocals, and hardware electronics, no two sets are the same, each one responding intuitively to the moment and the space.

There'll Likely Be Michael Jackson Vigils Throughout the Night
International Premiere The shocking news of Michael Jackson’s death is witnessed through thousands of found footage video reactions in director Marcus Batto’s collage-tornado of a film. Remixing early YouTube vlogs, news coverage, song fragments and more, There’ll Likely Be Michael Jackson Vigils Throughout the Night is both a potent exercise in modern internet archiving and a time capsule for a bygone era of the world wide web. More honest than any traditional MJ biopic could ever aspire to be, Batto’s film defines Jackson through a web of the world’s wide-ranging POV’s in this one very specific moment in time: eschewing valourization while exploring the idea of celebrity deification. And it’s funny too! Get your graphic tees and your shutter shades on… we’re going back to 2009! This international premiere will be followed by a Q&A with director Marcus Batto. The feature will be preceded by the Toronto premiere of the short film Take a Look Around (D: Colby Richardson): an experimental doc about a video artist who brings a power drill camera contraption to the CNE.

Better Go Mad in the Wild
Official Selection – Hot Docs Festival 2026 Karlovy Vary Crystal Globe winner “Plays as part fever dream, part paean to rural life, all while focussing deeply on these brothers and their menagerie of animal companions and myriad mishaps.” – Jason Gorber, POV Magazine “A film that will stay with you for sensory and philosophical reasons alike.” – Victor Fraga, Dirty Movies A talking cow narrates the lives of identical twin brothers living alone on a remote farm in Czechia’s Šumava mountains. From the outset, the film makes it clear this is no ordinary story. Based loosely on Czech journalist Aleš Palán’s book of the same name, director Miro Remo's Better Go Mad in the Wild is a wildly original portrait of Franta and Ondra, whose days pass by in an offbeat rhythm of tending to their livestock, arm-wrestling, smoking joints and philosophizing about life. Their bond is both inseparable and volatile, bound by a sometimes wordless connection only twins share. Yet even the smallest disagreements carry weight, and through Remo’s lens their everyday routines and quarrels gradually take on an almost mythic quality. Blurring the boundaries between documentary observation and dreamlike invention, Remo mirrors the pair’s eccentric existence with fantastical flourishes, surreal humour and strikingly cinematic imagery. Deliriously absurd, funny and unexpectedly moving, this singular film invites audiences into a world suspended somewhere between reality and fable. Carmen Thompson, Hot Docs In Czech, with English subtitles.

About the Concerts This special international edition of Latin Friday features 2 of the most exciting salsa dura bands on the planet. This epic night is a rare chance to see these incredible orchestras, both visiting from Colombia as part of Canadian tours, in one night in an intimate venue that has become home to Latin communities in Toronto. La-33 Renowned for their hits like “La Pantera Mambo”, “La Soledad”, and “Qué Rico Boogaloo” the now legendary. La-33 was founded in Bogotá in 2001. Drawing inspiration from the hard-hitting salsa and Latin sounds of 1970s New York, the orchestra was created by brothers Sergio and Santiago Mejía Rocca, along with Guillermo Celis, in a house on Calle 33 in the Teusaquillo neighbourhood, giving the group its name. Blending rock influences, original lyrics, and fresh arrangements, La-33 has become a symbol of Colombian salsa. Over more than 20 years, they’ve performed over 1,500 concerts across five continents, establishing themselves as one of today's most successful independent salsa groups. La Pambelé is a salsa brava orchestra redefining Colombia’s tropical and alternative music landscape by revisiting the sonic traditions of 1970s salsa brava while infusing them with contemporary lyrical narratives. Their sound bridges nostalgia and modernity, which one of Colombia’s leading media outlets described as “a new approach to old-school salsa.” The ensemble’s nine musicians bring together a rich instrumentation: piano, congas, flute, trumpet, timbales, trombone, bongó, cowbell, baby bass, and vocals, crafting a dynamic and high-energy performance designed to move both body and soul. Emerging from Bogotá at 2,600 meters above sea level, La Pambelé takes its name from a Bantu term meaning “defender of one’s own,” while also paying homage to the legendary Colombian boxer Antonio Cervantes Reyes, aka " Pambelé ". Composed of musicians from across the country, the group challenges long-held assumptions about the capital’s musical identity, asserting Bogotá’s place within Colombia’s rhythmic and cultural heritage.

MENU Kal Dosa Canapé with Mushroom Chukka & Curry Leaf Oil (Tamil Nadu) Soft mini kal dosa (a thicker, softer, and spongier variant of a plain dosa with crisp edges) topped with peppery mushroom and fennel chukka (a dry-roasted curry) with curry leaves — earthy, bold, and deeply comforting. Malabar Vegetable Tartlet with Coconut Cream (Kerala) A delicate tart filled with coconut-laced carrots, green beans, potatoes and peas. Mild, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. Inspired by Kerala's famous vegetable stews. Mini Mangalore Bun Sliders with Coconut Chutney (Karnataka) Light, fluffy buns with a hint of sweetness and notes of banana, paired with a savory chutney made from coconut, green chiles and a blend of spices. Kaaram Poli Coins with Green Chile & Coconut Filling (Andhra Pradesh) Soft poli discs (unique flatbreads related to paratha, but softer and more delicate) layered with a fiery green chile chana dhal (chick pea curry) and coconut filling. Kaaram refers to a higher spice/heat level typical of Andhra Pradesh. Bold, vibrant, and unexpected. Shikampuri Kebab Bites with Mint Chutney (Telangana) Golden kebabs with a creamy center. Shikampuri refers to a style of stuffed kabob with a rich filling. In this vegetarian version, chana dhal (chick pea curry) and paneer take centre stage while a light, yogurt sauce completes the signature creamy contrast to the outer crisp layers. Rich, indulgent, and deeply satisfying. Mini Orange Rolls with Citrus Glaze (Pondicherry) Soft, fragrant yeast-based rolls (not unlike brioche) infused with orange zest and finished with a light citrus glaze. A bright, refreshing end to the meal with a French touch that honor's that country's love of pairing enriched dough with a delicate glaze. —- Tales & Tiffin is a curated supper club experience that brings together food, storytelling, and culture in an intimate, thoughtfully designed setting. The Decline of Western Civilization – 45th Anniversary
"A bracing, stimulating and technically superb close-up look at the L.A. punk scene." – Variety Their message is brutally clear: Destroy the old and make way for the new. This is the punk's violent revolution; their lawless world. This is The Decline of Western Civilization , a riveting, unflinching account of the punk rock phenomenon and its alienated, reactionary subculture. Penelope Spheeris' fierce, bleak portrait documents L.A.'s infamous punk bands as they perform on stage and discuss their lives, music and philosophy off stage. Through interviews with punk fans, music critics and club owners, it is a crucial, compelling statement of one of the most significant and influential youth movements and musical transformations. It is perhaps a prophetic glimpse of the forces that will inherit our world…. Witness THE DECLINE.
