Meadowvale Community Ride 2026
On September 5th, bring along your bikes, family and friends to pedal your way through the beautiful trails and streets of Meadowvale. Running along Credit River and housing the Meadowvale Conservation Area along with two lakes, this is the perfect ride that will explore this northwest section of Mississauga and have you feeling like you escaped the city. Whether you are new to cycling or have been doing it for a while, there will be routes ranging from 8 km to 16 km, exploring cycling friendly roads and trails. Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time! Added Bike Fix-it to Community Ride: The City of Mississauga is offering free bike checks and tune-ups from a bike mechanic during the Clarkson and Meadowvale Community Rides. Checks can include the basic air, brakes/bell and chain/crank arm (ABC) and other basic repair needs like flat tire fixes. Meadowvale Community Centre September 5, 9-10 a.m. and 12-1 p.m. (before/after the ride) No registration required for the Bike Fix-it events. It’s first come, first serve. Note: Parts will not be included. If you have parts that you want the mechanics to replace, please bring it with you (i.e. correct tube size to replace the tube, or a pedal to replace a broken one, etc.) About the Community Rides program The City of Mississauga is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome! All rides leave the start location at 10 a.m. and will end with refreshments. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms. CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides. MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Children aged 6 and under must travel in bike trailers, bike-mounted child seats or on tandem-tows, and also need to be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements. BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate. Photo and/or Video Release: Video footage, photos and/or recordings will be taken during this event, which may include your voice, recognizable image or appearance. Please be advised, by participating in this event, you consent to the City of Mississauga using your voice, recognizable image or appearance in print, digital or web-based formats for promotional and archival purposes in any and all media, without compensation and you release the City of Mississauga from any liability relating thereto of any nature. Barahmé's lead single, Like A Man, addresses toxic masculinity globally and in the Arab world, blending soulful vocals with bold storytelling. "Shaam-e-Tabassum" with Bushra Ansari
Legendary Pakistani television star Bushra Ansari graces the stage in an exclusive one-woman show for the first time in Canada! "Shaam-e-Tabassum" is a stage show by veteran Pakistani actress and comedian Bushra Ansari that blends stand-up comedy, satire, storytelling, and social commentary into an unforgettable theatrical experience. Through lively anecdotes, mimicry, and spontaneous humor, she keeps the audience engaged while also delivering subtle messages about human behavior and modern society. This performance celebrates her legacy as one of Pakistan's most beloved entertainers and showcases why she is often regarded as the "Queen of Comedy." Shallum Xavier
As a founding member of the iconic band Fuzön, he helped pioneer a unique fusion of South Asian classical music with Western rock, jazz, and blues, shaping the modern sound of the region. Recognized as Pakistan’s Best Guitarist in 2006 and 2008, Shallum has received multiple national awards, including Song of the Year, Best Album, and Best Video. His work, both as a solo artist and with Fuzön, has earned acclaim for its emotional depth, technical brilliance, and genre-crossing creativity.

28th Annual Tim Hortons Southside Shuffle Blues & Jazz Festival
The three-day event features two free stages, one ticketed stage, and a free Saturday afternoon street party on Lakeshore Road East from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with additional live music in clubs and restaurants throughout the village. Part of the 2026 Mississauga Literary Festival , this special in-person Author Talk with Jess Janz features a talk followed by book sale and signing. Every book is a collection of stories…and so is every person. In this engaging, interactive keynote, best-selling author Jess Janz explores the stories that shape who we are, the stories we inherit, the stories we tell about ourselves, and the stories we discover when we become curious about the people around us. Drawing from her book The Table Where We Meet and nearly a decade of hosting Dinner With Strangers , Jess weaves together personal storytelling, reflections on human connection, and practical insights into how stories help us build empathy, challenge assumptions, and deepen our understanding of one another. Audiences will leave inspired to approach books and everyday conversations with fresh curiosity, recognizing that some of the most meaningful stories we'll ever encounter might be the person sitting beside us. Jess Janz is the bestselling author of The Table Where We Meet , a community facilitator, and the creator of Dinner with Strangers , a movement that brings people together to share stories over a meal – without discussing what they do for work. Jess has led conversations and experiences for organizations including Wealthsimple, lululemon, Altea Active Club, OpenTable, The W Hotel, Staub, Husmates, and Writers Collective of Canada. She also hosts monthly writing workshops and Poetry Club for a community of more than 70,000 people. Jess Janz's book will be available for sale after the talk.
