Mississauga Italfest 2026
Each year, this spectacular event unites the community, draws in regional visitors, and welcomes tourists from across Ontario, Canada, and the USA, all eager to celebrate and savour the rich Italian heritage and culture. With thrilling performances from rising stars and international headliners straight from Italy, immersive art and history exhibits, lively kids acts, and family attractions, plus the excitement of bocce tournaments and soccer showdowns, Italfest delivers an unforgettable adventure for all ages. We proudly pass down cherished traditions to Mississauga's diverse community and the next generation of Canadian Italians, spotlighting beloved Italo-themed artisans, electrifying musicians, heritage dancers, a variety of diverse food and bustling market vendors-while every year, a different Italian region takes centre stage with its unique customs and mouthwatering cuisine. Representatives from Italy's miliary, Bersagliere, Carabinieri and La Polizia honour Italfest through symbolic traditional marches. Other attractions include food-eating contests, VIP Lounge & Bar Italia, culinary demos, and a huge dance party under the stars. Italfest's popularity and attendance has consistently grown each year it's been held at Celebration Square with loyal fans and new audiences coming together to enjoy a taste of Italy.

Riverwood Summer BioBlitz
This year, we're expanding the event to two days so that you have more time to explore the park and rack up as many observations as you can! Our BioBlitz helps us grow our knowledge of Riverwood's plants and animals and the the impact that urbanization has on their populations. We'll be offering a variety of guided programs, but you're also encouraged to explore the park on your own throughout the weekend to spot and record plant and animal observations for the BioBlitz. All ages and levels of nature knowledge are welcome to take part!

Sheridan Community Ride 2026
Join us on August 26 to tour the forested trails of Sherwood Forrest. Starting at Sheridan Park, travel through the community’s winding trails and experience nature from all around. Whether you are new to cycling or have been doing it for a while, there will be routes ranging from 8km to 16km, exploring cycling friendly roads and trails. Can’t make the in-person ride? Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time! Route Links: 8 km route 16km route About the Community Rides program The City of Mississauga is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome! All rides leave the start location at 10 a.m. and will end with refreshments. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms. CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides. MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Children aged 6 and under must travel in bike trailers, bike-mounted child seats or on tandem-tows, and also need to be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements. BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate. Photo and/or Video Release: Video footage, photos and/or recordings will be taken during this event, which may include your voice, recognizable image or appearance. Please be advised, by participating in this event, you consent to the City of Mississauga using your voice, recognizable image or appearance in print, digital or web-based formats for promotional and archival purposes in any and all media, without compensation and you release the City of Mississauga from any liability relating thereto of any nature. Do not enter the area if you do not agree to be subject to the foregoing.
Repair Hub
Repair Hubs give items that are destined for landfill a second life with help from our volunteer fixers. Not only will you reduce waste, but you'll also learn repair skills from our experts to extend the lifecycle of your products at home! We can help you fix: Electronics Small appliances Bicycles Toys Clothing Drop-in any time between 11:00 am and 4 pm! Please bring one item per visit, subject to availability. Participants can also enjoy: Colouring station for children and adults Interactive Climate Change and Waste Jeopardy games Attendees bringing items for repair do so at their own risk. The City of Mississauga and volunteer fixers cannot guarantee that items will be fixed and are not liable for any damages that may be incurred to items that are brought in for repair. In the event a repair is not possible, volunteer fixers may be able to offer product assessment or advice. Cruisers Sports Multi-Sport Try It Day
This year the event will be held on August 22 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mississauga Sports & Entertainment Centre. This event is free, no experience is necessary, all ages are welcome, and all equipment will be provided. While we will prioritize individuals with a physical disability in trying the events first, friends and family members are more than welcome to join and try as well if time/equipment permits! In our efforts to be more inclusive of our diverse population in the GTA, on-site interpreters can be made available to assist any participants (and/or their family members) if English is not their primary spoken language.
