Repair Hub
Repair Hubs give items that are destined for landfill a second life with help from our volunteer fixers. Not only will you reduce waste, but you'll also learn repair skills from our experts to extend the lifecycle of your products at home! We can help you fix: Electronics Small appliances Bicycles Toys Clothing Drop-in any time between 11:00 am and 4 pm! Please bring one item per visit, subject to availability. Participants can also enjoy: Colouring station for children and adults Interactive Climate Change and Waste Jeopardy games Attendees bringing items for repair do so at their own risk. The City of Mississauga and volunteer fixers cannot guarantee that items will be fixed and are not liable for any damages that may be incurred to items that are brought in for repair. A City in Tune: Mississauga's Greatest Hits
Named Music City in 2023, Mississauga is known locally and internationally as a hub for musical talent, with nearly 70 years of hits and significant contributions in the music industry. This rich musical history comes to life in A City in Tune: Mississauga’s Greatest Hits, with the stories, sounds, and items that reveal the people and places behind the music. Through iconic instruments, stage-worn outfits, archival materials, and ephemera from Mississauga’s music founders, rock legends, and modern icons, A City in Tune invites you to discover the stories behind the performers, the creative spaces that supported their careers, and the lasting influence of the musicians, innovators, and contributors who have shaped the city’s musical legacy. From Oscar Peterson and Ronnie Hawkins to Triumph, Billy Talent, and MR. SAUGA, the exhibition spans generations and genres, exploring how music has shaped connection, identity, and community across the city. See remarkable artifacts that bring these stories to life, including Rik Emmett’s autographed Triumph guitar, Gil Moore’s drum kit, Donna Grantis’ guitar and stage-worn tour outfits, and a collection of Billy Talent gear, memorabilia, and tour artifacts. A City in Tune is curated by the Museums of Mississauga, building on the success of the first A City in Tune exhibition in 2025, developed in collaboration with students from the University of Toronto’s Master of Museum Studies program. Research and artifacts for this installment draw from Mississauga’s rich music community, including the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame, Legends Row, Heritage Mississauga, alongside partnerships with the Region of Peel Archives and the Canadian Black Music Archives. A companion micro-exhibition runs alongside the Adamson Estate show at Courtneypark Library from September 25, 2026 to February 26, 2027. While the exhibition at Adamson Estate celebrates some of Mississauga's most influential music legends and the places that shaped the city's musical legacy, this companion exhibition shines a spotlight on the grassroots musicians, emerging artists, and community connections that continue to define Mississauga's sound today. About Heather Christine Heather Christine is an award-winning Mississauga vocalist, composer, and producer whose soulful blend of jazz, pop, and R&B has captivated audiences across Canada, including performances at Celebration Square and other major venues. A passionate advocate for the local arts community, she produced the acclaimed Isn't She Lovely concert series, which celebrated women in music at Mississauga's Living Arts Centre and featured award-winning artist Patti Jannetta-Baker. Heather's recent single, C'est Magnifique, was produced by celebrated Canadian pianist Bill King and has received international radio airplay, while her collaborative EP with the Bill King Trio showcases her original compositions and fresh takes on jazz standards. Deeply committed to community-building through music, she also founded West Vocal Jam, an inclusive open-stage program for local performers. Recognized with Mississauga's Music Artist of the Year Award by Mississauga City Councillor Stephen Dasko at the Ward 1 Community Excellence Awards, she is also the recipient of the Best New Artist Award presented by Mississauga Music in 2018. Heather Christine is grateful to share her passion for music her husband Matt Zaddy. Together they perform as their musical duo River North. About Bill King Bill King is a renowned pianist, composer, producer, broadcaster, and jazz advocate with deep ties to Toronto and Mississauga's music communities. A student of Oscar Peterson's Advanced School of Contemporary Music and a scholarship recipient to Berklee College of Music, King has spent decades shaping Canada's jazz scene as founder of The Jazz Report, a founder and artistic director of the Beaches International Jazz Festival for 30 years, and producer of acclaimed recordings by artists including Liberty Silver, Sophie Milman, Chaka Khan, and Pat LaBarbera. Throughout his remarkable career, he has worked with music legends such as Janis Joplin, Linda Ronstadt, Martha Reeves, The Pointer Sisters, and former Mississauga resident Ronnie Hawkins. His long-standing tribute projects celebrating Oscar Peterson's legacy, along with his award-winning production work and mentorship of Canadian artists, have made him one of the country's most influential figures in the jazz music scene and beyond. King is an eleven-year artist in residence at the Harris Institute of Music and is currently Executive Director of the Redwood Theatre in Toronto.

Panchali - The Feminine Fire
Step into the Mahabharata through the eyes of Panchali (Draupadi) in this powerful English-language theatrical production an epic story of courage, destiny, honor, and resilience. Salmon Run Community Ride 2026
Bring along your bikes for an exciting bike ride along the Credit River to watch the Salmon Run! If you’re somebody who loves the opportunity to observe nature while getting exercise, you will love this ride! Each year during Fall these 20+ pound salmon make their way from Lake Ontario and up the Credit River to spawn. The Salmon Run is a fascinating show that is a must see! On October 3, the ride will depart from River Grove Community Centre at 10 am. There will be distance options of 8 km and 16 km. Can’t make the in-person ride? Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time! Route Links: 8 km route 16km route About the Community Rides program The City of Mississauga is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome! All rides leave the start location at 10 a.m. and will end with refreshments. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms. CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides. MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Children aged 6 and under must travel in bike trailers, bike-mounted child seats or on tandem-tows, and also need to be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements. BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate. Photo and/or Video Release: Video footage, photos and/or recordings will be taken during this event, which may include your voice, recognizable image or appearance. The Great Riverwood Hike
So what exactly makes The Great Riverwood Hike so… great? It's a chance for individuals, families, and groups to enjoy the beauty of nature while helping to protect it. The Hike is a peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising event. You can register as an individual, join a team, or create a team to take part. Raise funds for your hike, then come out to Riverwood on October 4 to explore the trails, take part in fun, nature-based activities along the way, and relax with refreshments at the finish line. Funds raised from the Hike will help ensure The Riverwood Conservancy's vital conservation, education, and gardening programs can continue to serve our community, and the wider world of nature.

The legendary production “The Maids” by the renown theatrical director Roman Viktyuk, based on Jean Genet’s play “Les Bonnes.” Premiering on September 17, 1988 at the Satirikon Theatre, the production became a landmark theatrical event and a manifesto of new theatricality. Bold, provocative, sensual, and visually unforgettable, “The Maids” explores the fragile line between fantasy and reality, obsession and rebellion, love and hatred.
