Fall Recycling Collection Drive 2026
Drop off unwanted clothing, textiles and electronics in collection bins at your nearest City facility! In celebration of Waste Reduction Week and Circular Economy Month in Canada, the City of Mississauga is hosting another Recycling Collection Drive, in partnership with Toronto & Region Conservation Authority's Partners in Project Green. All unwanted clothing and household textiles will be donated to Diabetes Canada, including: Shoes Boots Accessories Bags Blankets Sheets Towels Sleeping bags Curtains Soft toys (e.g. stuffed animals) Electronics will be collected and recycled by the Electronics Recycling Association. The NeoVoce Philharmonic Choir, in partnership with Riverwood Conservancy and with funding from the City of Mississauga, presents "Harmonic Resonance" - a community concert exploring the intersection of music, water ecology, and sustainable living. This program brings together choral works and guest vocalists to celebrate local art, foster environmental awareness, and strengthen community connections through music. Downtown Community Ride 2026
Bring your bikes and join us on September 17 for a family friendly ride in the Downtown. Meeting Location: Community Common Park, 355 Princess Royal Drive: The ride will start at 10:00 AM, with routes ranging from 8km to 16km, exploring cycling friendly roads and trails. 8 km: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52115397 16 km https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52115334 Can’t make the in-person ride? Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time! About the Community Rides program The City of Mississauga is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome! This ride leaves the start location at 10am and will end with refreshments. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms. CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides. MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Children aged 6 and under must travel in bike trailers, bike-mounted child seats or on tandem-tows, and also need to be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements. BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate. Photo and/or Video Release: Video footage, photos and/or recordings will be taken during this event, which may include your voice, recognizable image or appearance. Please be advised, by participating in this event, you consent to the City of Mississauga using your voice, recognizable image or appearance in print, digital or web-based formats for promotional and archival purposes in any and all media, without compensation and you release the City of Mississauga from any liability relating thereto of any nature. Help us add more trees towards the City of Mississauga’s goal of planting one million trees by joining a tree planting event at a local park. No experience needed – just bring your enthusiasm. We’ll teach you how to plant like a pro and help make our park even more beautiful. Equipment such as shovels will be provided. Online registration is required. Adaptive Concert: Charlotte Tang, fortepiano
Hear the piano as it once was—intimate, expressive, and alive. How did music sound 200 years ago? Step into a 19th-century drawing room and experience the piano as audiences once did—rich with imagination, nuance, and human connection. Performed on a historical fortepiano, this immersive concert brings to life beloved works by Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, Beethoven, Clara Schumann, and more. Audience members are invited to draw and respond creatively throughout the performance, making this concert a shared artistic experience. The performance is led by award-winning fortepianist Charlotte Tang, whose performances are shaped by deep research into the expressive possibilities of early pianos. A laureate of the 2024 Musica Antiqua Competition in Bruges and recipient of the 2025 Early Music America Emerging Artist Award, Tang reveals colours, textures, and emotional nuance rarely heard on modern instruments. Praised as an “expressive, fine chamber musician,” she brings both scholarly insight and artistic sensitivity to the stage—offering a vivid, intimate encounter with music history. This is more than a concert—it’s a journey into the sound world of the past. This adaptive music performance is being presented in a family-friendly, inclusive environment that embraces neurodiversity and disability.
