A League of Our Own: Mississauga Sports Exhibition
Sport plays a vital role in connecting people and communities in Mississauga, unifying a diverse population by turning play into a shared sense of belonging. A League of Our Own celebrates team sports and shares the stories of local athletes and coaches. This exhibition will be on display at the Museums of Mississauga’s Adamson Estate from April 23 to September 6. It is a chance to experience a variety of artifacts tied to Mississauga’s sporting history, including sports uniforms, and Rikén:å - Little Brother – a unique art piece which embodies the lived experiences of a Mohawk lacrosse athlete. Through interactive experiences, visitors are invited to be a part of the action and reflect on their own memories involving sport. A League of Our Own was developed by Randa Bustami, Emily Owen, Portia Piasentin, and Ankush Sood as part of the Faculty of Information’s Museum Studies Capstone Projects course, in consultation with Dr. Irina D. Mihalache. Mosaic 2026 - South Asian Festival of Mississauga
The festival will feature internationally popular and local singers, dancers, musicians in a two day free professionally held outdoor festival environment. The festival will also feature South Asian and international cuisine and a vendors bazaar. Kids can enjoy free balloon animals making and arts and crafts workshops. There will be a children's parade at the Square as well. Half goes to the Performers and half to Friends of the Museums to support Mississauga Museum events and educational programs.

Noah received his Bachelor of Music Performance from Humber College where he was a two-time award winner of the Kenny McLean Memorial Scholarship. Noah specializes in Latin and Jazz music and has been hailed by titans such as Hilario Duran, Laura Fernandez and Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo. Family Fun Day
The City of Mississauga’s public works professionals play an important role in keeping us safe. They take care of our roads, sidewalks, parks, bike lanes, transit stops, stormwater infrastructure and more. On Saturday, August 8, the City is celebrating its public works professionals and the important work they do with a free Family Fun Day event – and you’re invited! The City hosts Family Fun Day each year in May during National Public Works Week. The May event was cancelled due to rain and rescheduled to August 8. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Princess Royal Drive and outside the Living Arts Centre at 4141 Living Arts Drive. Enjoy free, family-friendly fun, get close to public works equipment like snowplows, and interact with City staff. Pick up a passport from any event station and get a stamp at each station you visit. Event activities include: ‘Touch a truck’ and equipment displays. Watch for a snowplow, MiWay bus, front-end loader and the City’s new windrow-clearing machine Free interactive exhibits with fun and educational activities Bouncy castle Bus tours of the MiWay Transitway Submit your fully stamped passport for a chance to win a prize. Lisgar Community Ride 2026
Join us on August 8 to explore the community of Lisgar. Located in the northwest corner of Mississauga, this community are home to many parks and cycling trails for everybody to appreciate. If you enjoy being active and outside in serene environments, this ride is for you! Starting at Tobias Mason Park, pedal your way through the Milgrove Trail, Lisgar Meadow Brook Trail, and Osprey Marsh to discover picturesque wildlife corridors. Whether you are new to cycling or have been doing it for a while, there will be routes ranging from 8 km to 16 km, exploring cycling friendly roads and trails. Specific route details will be posted one week before the ride. Can’t make the in-person ride? Don’t worry, every ride will be available for the rest of the year so you can explore your neighbourhood by bike whenever you have the time! Route Links: 8 km route : TBD 16km route : TBD About the Community Rides program The City of Mississauga, is hosting a series of free, in-person bike rides from May to October. They are the perfect way to explore your neighbourhood by bike and meet new people. Rides are designed with a variety of distances and all riders are welcome! All rides leave the start location at 10 a.m. and will end with refreshments. REGISTRATION PROCEDURES: There is an online waiver attached to your eventbrite registration which must be completed by each individual participant. Registrants must sign-in at the tent/table prior to the ride. Registered participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in. NOTE: Day of registration for this event is available, however space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register online beforehand to guarantee participation. If registering day-of, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ride start time to complete written forms. CANCELLATION POLICY: If warranted by the weather forecast, rides will be cancelled. Cancellation decisions will be made by the end of the business day prior to the ride, and be communicated to all registered riders by e-mail, and posted to the Mississauga Bikes webpage. There will be NO rain dates or rescheduling for cancelled rides. MINOR PARTICIPANTS: All participants aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, and must be registered separately. Minors that are over the age of 7 are allowed to ride their own bike. Minors aged 14-17 may ride unaccompanied with parental permission. The adult parent/guardian must first be entered into the system, and then register their child and accept the permission statements. BIKE HELMETS: All riders must wear a bike helmet when participating in City of Mississauga cycling events. Those without a helmet will not be allowed to participate.
